Recap: The Kite String Tangle at Transit Bar

Transit Bar was filled to the brim last Thursday night. A sold out crowd packed the venue eager to see Brisbane’s alternative electronic artist and producer Danny Harley as his experimental solo project – The Kite String Tangle!

The night started off with Sydney’s Nicole Millar, an amazing singer who brought us her sweet voice together with her DJ who injected electro sounds into the mix of her sweet yet quirky sound. She was amazing and reminded me a bit of both Lorde and Birdy!

Main Event is back for round 2! Another $1,000 MC battle – Toad defends his title PLUS live sets from Rates, Manaz Ill, Big Dave w/Kitty B, Eitha, Flawlezz, Coda Conduct, Lash and Ill K. All hosted by Greeley.

At Main Event Round 1, local boy Toad competed among a draw of 8 MC’s including heavyweights Greeley and The Tongue. When the action wound up, just Toad was left standing having defeating The Tongue in the final to take home the $1,000 prize. On 21 March he defends his title at Main Event Round 2.

Myer Face of Canberra Racing Contest – Heat 2

‘Wow!’ is the most appropriate word to describe last night, the second heat of the Myer Face of Canberra Racing competition held at Siren Bar & Restaurant in Gungahlin.

This time we had 27 ladies show up and strut their stuff on the catwalk, each competing for a spot in the final.

The girls, much like last week, were dressed in their best race-wear with matching accessories and perfectly primped hair and makeup. It is safe to say once again that our job, as judges, was very hard! How do we pick just eight?
