Grudge Match: 2014 – The Brumbies vs The Waratahs

Traditionally, The Brumbies game against the NSW Waratahs is THE BIGGEST match at (newly-named) GIO Canberra Stadium during the course of the Super 15 Rugby season each year.

It’s been a tumultuous couple of weeks for our local team, with The Brumbies losing captain David Pocock for the season to the same knee that wiped him out in 2013. The good news is that on the field, the lads have recovered from an early stumble against the Queensland Reds to get some wins under their belts courtesy of the struggling Western Force and Hurricanes.

Getting Prepared for St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is one of those days that almost anyone can get involved in. From the more serious side of celebrating St Patrick through prayer at a special mass, all the way through the wonderful craic of joining with friends over a pint or three and singing to a wonderful anti-establishment ditty.

Australia gets the jump on the rest of the world, ensuring we’re very much ‘on the way’ by the time those in Ireland and North-Eastern USA get into some of the larger celebrations around the globe.

This weekend marked the 10-year anniversary of Academy Nightclub and it did not disappoint with the celebrations. With Melbourne’s Will Sparks kicking off the all-weekend party on Thursday it was going to be hard to follow that up! Have no doubt that Academy came through with the one-and-only Eric Prydz.

Trend Alert: Grunge

If the recent General Pants Co. A/W showings are anything to go by, then we are in for a grungy (but totes trendy) street style for the next six to eight months!

To get you up to speed with exactly what’s meant when we say ‘Grunge’ – it’s definitely the 21st Century version where we actually wash our hair and have a shower after we have ‘rolled out of bed’ – the trick is we wear designer digs and use products to purposely make it look like we have bed hair. The other obvious difference being that we smell like Chanel or Dolce & Gabanna. Genius.
