There’s nothing better than finishing up on a Friday with the whole weekend ahead. With The Brumbies’ season on the line, GIO Canberra Stadium is the place to be as The Western Force vie for one of the last spots in the Super 15 Finals. Will The Brumbies prevail? We’ve cast our eye over the key points of this week’s final home game to identify our team’s chances.

The Old Enemy

Well, the unthinkable has happened.

Somehow, against all of their finest traditions, the NSW Waratahs find themselves at the top end of the Super 15 ladder at the right end of the season.

Is the series over? Hell, no! There’s still one more match to play, and the tradition of hating the team from the other side of the border remains in force regardless of the overall status of the series. We’ve cast fresh eyes over Origin II and found a few tasty tit-bits that might define the final match on Wednesday night.

1. New South Wales can actually win.

Melbourne shoegaze and psyche superstars Flyying Colours plays a free show, with Bruges (and more) on support at Transit Bar this Friday night.

The last year has been a cracker for Flyying Colours. The Australian release of their debut EP through Universal Distribution was an excellent start, as was the amount of radio play and street press attention it received. But it was the international blogosphere that really got behind them, posting their psychedelic filmclips on sites the world over.
